Qantas celebrated its 95th birthday with the roll out of this Boeing 737-800 (VH-VXQ) nicknamed Retro Roo II. The livery made its first appearance on a Boeing 707 in 1959. And for those of you who have always wondered, “Qantas” is an acronym for “Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services.”

the bright red tails of the current and more recent past QANTAS liveries are certainly easy to pick from the ground though.

There was a spate of airlines doing retro liveries a few years ago. I think they look fantastic, better than most modern ones.
